L.A.-based funk rock group 100 Monkeys betrays your expectations at every turn with sounds that surprise. Rather than an over-wrought sense of the pretentiously sublime, Jackson Rathbone and the boys bring fun back to music by using their obvious talents to channel The Door’s Jim Morrison, early 90s Sublime and a cornucopia of other cowbell-loving musicians. The result is a damn great show that’s already sold out. But keep your ears to the grindstone for other local shows coming soon.
