Charlie Bewley Thunder Road Interview
Matt Dallas (Kyle XY), Charlie Bewley (The Twilight Saga) and actor/writer/director Steven Grayhm have been traveling across America interviewing Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans in preparation for their upcoming feature film, Thunder Road. The two-month research road trip, which is being documented in Into the Heart of America: A Soldier's Story, has given the actors unique opportunities to listen to and understand what American servicemen and women go through once their tours of duty are over.
In between interviewing veterans, Dallas, Bewley, and Grayhm graciously took the time to talk to me about the importance of making sure Thunder Road is as authentic as possible and that it accurately reflects - and respects - the experiences of war veterans.
Why did you decide to hit the road and do this research, because a script could have been done without actually embarking on a lengthy road trip?

Charlie Bewley: "We felt that it was time for - and I think this is representative of our production company as a whole - it was time to bring some reality to the screen. To do that - and, as you know, Steven has written the script - we still felt like we needed to go and talk to people and gather accounts to enrich the script and make it real, essentially."

It sounds like you are all very respectful of these veterans you're talking to. I know it's emotionally very difficult for them, but what's it been like for you to be hearing these stories?

Charlie Bewley: First Trailer for LIKE CRAZY (youtube)
The first trailer for the indie romantic drama Like Crazy has been released. The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year and stars Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence. If you’re expecting a romantic comedy, then you’re in for a bit of a shock. The trailer is an uber-downer, and kind of crushing. It doesn’t give much away in terms of story, but it’s safe to say it won’t be anywhere near a “feel good movie of the year” list. Matt wasn’t a huge fan of the movie when he caught it at Sundance, but Steve liked it more. I like the actors involved and I’m intrigued enough by the trailer, I just may need to immediately follow the film up with a Disney movie of some sort to prevent a lapse into depression.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A young American guy and a young British girl meet in college and fall in love. Their love is tested when she is required to leave the country and they must face the challenges of a long-distance relationship.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. Like Crazy also stars Charlie Bewley and Alex Kingston. The film opens October 28th.

@alchemission's Brother Andy Walks For Alzheimer's
Hello!
Jack, and I are walking from Big Ben to the Eiffel Tower in 8 days, on the 27th June. We will be covering 240 miles in total, at 30 miles a day. We are doing this in aid of Alzheimer's Research UK, which is the central charity for the disease.
Alzheimer's is often overlooked, despite it being one of the most distressing and dehibiliating diseases in our modern world. Personally, I have seen my grandma over the past three years decline rapidly from an independent, intelligent woman to someone who needs 24 hour care to survive.
