Rachelle Lefevre’s ‘Off the Map’ character has a big secret

In the show, Lefevre portrays “Ryan Clark,” a free-spirited but talented doctor . . . who apparently has a secret.

According to Rachelle Lefevre’s latest interview, with the New York Post’s PopWrap, Episode 6 of the series will bring some big surprises from her character.

“She has this great backstory that is finally revealed in episode 6 – it's a wowza, cartoon eyes coming out of their sockets moment that they told me in that first meeting. The minute they told me why she was this impulsive free spirit I was very interested.”

Sounds like we’ll be getting to see Rachelle Lefevre dig deep for that one.
Per TV Guide, Episode 6 is called “It’s Good” and airs on February 16th.
If you haven’t yet seen the first few episodes of Off The Map, they’re attached in the sidebar and available for viewing here.

There’ve only been three so far (Episode 4 airs tonight, obviously, since it’s Wednesday), and the series could use a Twilight fan ratings boost (see here and here).

Another interesting fact revealed in Rachelle Lefevre’s interview - and perhaps this will tip the scales if you’re debating whether to tune in – is what she finds to be the most difficult element of portraying a doctor.

“I can get my head around the words – and thank god for Wikipedia, because I’m always on that – but there’s a way that doctors handle people that has been the toughest for me. . . . The way they touch them -- there's such confidence in that. The most crass way to describe it is that by the time you get out of med school you’ve had a hand in every human orifice, so you’re incredibly comfortable around the human body. Non-doctors don’t have that. So I’m still struggling to look comfortable manhandling people.”
