Robert Pattinson has 5 bodyguards!

Robert Pattinson travels with five minders who guard him from fans.

Bosses at production studio Summit hired the heavy mob during shooting of Rob's latest film 'Remember Me', which is slated to hit UK screens on April 2.

The Twilight hunk has been forced to travel with bodyguards after almost being pushed under the wheels of a car by frenzied female admirers in New York's Union Square.

"If it hadn't been for the quick-thinking of two members of his team, he could easily have been a goner," the Daily Star quoted an eyewitness as saying.

"He was pushed off the sidewalk by the sheer number of fans who were trying to get close to him and fell against the door of a moving vehicle.

"If his clothing had got caught or a foot had gone under the car there's no doubt he would have been dragged along and seriously hurt," the eyewitness added.

Robert Pattinson – Robsessed, Now even female directors are raving about Pattinson

Looks like people can never get too much of Robert Pattinson. Legions of article are written every day to meet the crazy demands for updates about the twilight hunk’s whereabouts, his love life, upcoming movies, chemistry with co-actors and even all those trivial details from a person’s life you would little bother to get updated on in normal circumstances.

But yes, if you are Robsessed, you will definitely want more. So for the benefit of all you Robophiles, a new DVD “Robsessed” is out eulogizing Rob and just how down to earth he is, with peeks into his salad days when he was not what he is today, in his drama schools and all- in short, a veritable treat for all RPattz-suckers.

In the DVD, there is no Rob, though. Not in person, that is. It contains accounts of the actor from those who have worked with him in the past and most of them cannot praise Rob more highly.

Daisy Gili, director of one of Robert’s early films; The Summer House, reminisces- “Robert came out to France with us, even though he was only in two scenes, and he did all sorts of good services for us, sharing a room with a camera operator.”

“He wasn’t paid very much, if anything at all and he was just an absolute treat to have on set,” she added.

Anna MacDonald, producer of the film, is no less generous, too, in doling out praises.

She says- “Robert integrates with the group. He isn’t full of himself, he’s just like one of us.”

So for all the twi-hard fans, time to rush for the nearest DVD outlet.
