RUMOR: Rob to attend 'BAFTA Brits to Watch' in Los Angeles on July 9?

So far, only a rumor, nothing confirmed. The Daily Star (a British tabloid - grain of salt there) listed Rob as one of the actors set to attend 'BAFTA Brits to Watch' at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles on July 9.

No official announcement has been made about the 42 stars selected to attend, except for BAFTA's press release (click to read the full press release) that doesn't mention any names.

BAFTA’s President, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, and HRH The Duchess of Cambridge will attend the event as part of their visit to California, helping highlight the incredible depth and range of great British talent currently emerging in film, television and video games.

‘BAFTA Brits to Watch in partnership with Audi’ will be supported by leading film, television and video game companies who will personally host tables at the black-tie evening event, and invite leading creative practitioners both in front of and behind the camera to join them. The ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’, hand-picked emerging British talent, will join them at their tables for dinner to make what could be the most important introductions of their careers so far, as well as having the chance to meet Their Royal Highnesses. Examples of their work will be showcased throughout the evening and distributed to the attendees afterwards.

The forty two emerging Brits have been selected by an expert BAFTA panel based on a number of criteria. They will generally not be complete beginners in their industry, and will have already begun to show real promise. BAFTA will announce the names of those attending prior to the event.

More than 40 of the country’s hottest talents will be their guests at the bash.

The Brits To Watch black tie charity evening is being hosted by Bafta, who have Prince William as patron.

Major movie studios like Fox, Warner Brothers, Universal and Disney have scrambled for tables at the event.

Ad the rush of interest from agents, distributors and executives has made the night at the Belasco Theatre in LA a sell-out.

The list of young talent invited is believed to include Emily Blunt, Max Irons, Lily Cole and Hayley Atwell.

Other more established UK movie actors like Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, Atonement star James McAvoy and Harry Potter leading lady Emma Watson are also set to attend.

A Bafta source said: “The response from Hollywood has been mind-boggling.

“We limited it to 250 places for the whole industry but we could have sold 50 times that number in a day.

Gossip Cop: Robert Pattinson’s Drinking is Out of Control

Robert Pattinson’s “drinking problem has his friends and family fearing he’s going off the deep end,” declares the National Enquirer.

Before we continue, it’s worth noting the same Enquirer once insisted (ridiculously) that Pattinson’s agent Stephanie Ritz came between him and Kristen Stewart.

So that’s the tab’s level of expertise when it comes to Pattinson.

In any case, the Enquirer now takes recent comments in which Pattinson talks about drinking in his hotel room when he’s lonely… and makes it seem as though he’s an alcoholic boozing himself to death.

“Rob’s drinking has been a concern for a while now,” a so-called “close source” tells the magazine, later adding, “He’s clearly having issues with stardom and we want him to get help before he turns into a Hollywood casualty.”

A Hollywood casualty?

“It seems like Rob’s been turning to the bottle more often. He’s been living the wild life in L.A. – and needs to get his act together before it’s too late.”

Before it’s too late?

First of all, it’s pretty clear from the tone of the original interview that Pattinson is not really “living the wild life” at all. His hotel drinking happens when he can’t find a friend to hang out with when he has a free night. He’s not exactly rampaging through Hollywood clubs on an alcohol binge.

As for the morbid talk about Pattinson becoming a “Hollywood casualty” unless he’s saved from his drinking, it’s complete nonsense.

Pattinson occasionally drinks in his hotel when there’s nothing else going on – but he’s nowhere near “going off the deep end,” as the Enquirer contends. A source close to the actor tells Gossip Cop that Pattinson is enjoying his relationship, his career, and the free time he does manage to get.

More Rumours: Will Robert Pattinson Play Jeff Buckley In Biopic?

Every time someone utters the words “Jeff Buckley biopic” our 15-year-old self sighs deeply and weeps into her flannel shirt. In case you grew up after the Decade the Music Died – aka the mid-90s – Jeff Buckley was a shaggy haired, bony hunk with an angel’s voice, who was destined to save post-grunge rock n’ roll (listen to “Last Goodbye” below). He released one amazing album, Grace, and then tragically and bizarrely drowned in a river while on tour in 1997, crushing the music n’ makeout-filled dreams of every depressed teenage girl lurking around her local Orange Julius with a Discman in hand. A Buckley biopic has been talked about for yearsssssss, but now there’s a director attached – the very likable Jake Scott, who most recently worked with Kristen Stewart, Melissa Leo and James Gandolfini in Welcome to the Rileys.

Robert Pattinson is rumored to be into the part and he’d be an interesting choice, because Pattinson can sing – and play guitar – quite well. Like, for reals. And with production set to start in the fall, he may be able to squeeze it in between shooting Cosmopolis in the summer and promoting Breaking Dawn come October/November. (And yes, Jake has directed Rob’s girlfriend, so it’d be all cute and family-ish.)

But in case Rob’s too busy working or roadtripping to the Snow White and the Huntsman set, we’ve gathered some other guys who we think could pull of the role based on looks and talent alone (our favorite being Rob’s BFF Tom Sturridge). James Franco is also allegedly up for the part and we imagine that even if he can’t sing now, he’ll soon be enrolled in some course to learn how.

Gossip Cop: Robsten Never Had A Fight On The Set Of Breaking Dawn

What (possibly) started as a stupid April Fools Day joke has morphed into yet another bogus Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart rumor.

According to certain outlets and Twitter feeds, the two Breaking Dawn stars fought bitterly on set two nights ago, leading to a long filming stoppage when Stewart refused to do scenes with Pattinson.

The rumored conflict set off a flurry of questions to Gossip Cop.

As is the case with most Pattinson/Stewart rumors the other 364 days of the year, this one is totally baseless.

Gossip Cop checked with production sources, and not only was production never interrupted, but no one knew anything about a fight.

Until Breaking Dawn actually hits theaters, we expect that drama involving the project (both real and imagined), will continue.

Gossipcop: Rumor Mill Now (Wrongly) Links Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller

Earlier this week came overheated reports that Sienna Miller was eager to strike up a “friendship” with Robert Pattinson.

The rumor apparently originated with Miller hanging around Pattinson pal Tom Sturridge and supposedly being “keen to get to know hunk Robert.”

“I think she’s been texting Rob regularly,” claims a so-called “insider.”

When tabloid “sources” can only muster the confidence to “think” something is true, it’s a pretty good indication that it’s not.

Either way, it wasn’t long before other outlets inflated the non-story into: “Is Sienna Miller Trying to Steal Robert Pattinson?”

According to the newly exaggerated rumors, Miller “has been doing some serious flirty texting” with Pattinson and might be “trying to create a Robenna.”

“Now where does little ol’ Kristen Stewart stand in this love triangle that Sienna is trying so hard to form,” wonders one site.

Oh, please.

It’s the rumor mill that’s “trying so hard to form” an alleged love triangle here.

Miller recently split (again) with Jude Law. Apparently, being British and single is enough to make her a supposedly “serious” threat to “steal” Pattinson.

Like countless previous fictional relationship crises for Stewart and Pattinson, this one is just junk.

GossipCop: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart “Split” Story Doesn’t Fit

This week, Life & Style spun the story wheel and landed on “Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Headed For a Split,” so the writers were forced to come up with a slew of bogus arguments to back it.

The results aren’t pretty.

According to the magazine, Pattinson and Stewart are “rarely seen in public together and never affectionate,” and their diverging careers and “increasingly incompatible personalities” mean they’re “on their last legs as a couple.”

But that’s not all!

There’s also the matter of Keira Knightley, who might star with Pattinson in Cosmopolis. That prospect is “terrifying” for Stewart, because she was wooed by Pattinson when they made Twilight together, and “history seems destined – or doomed – to repeat itself with Keira.”

“The idea of [Pattinson and Knightley] getting intimate, even if it’s scripted, drives Kristen wild,” a so-called “pal” explains to Life & Style.

For good measure, the magazine reminds everyone of Pattinson’s alleged past flings with co-stars Nikki Reed (not true) and Emilie de Ravin (not true).

How desperate is Life & Style to prove that Knightley poses a threat to Robsten?

The tabloid refers to reports in Famous magazine that Pattinson and Knightley “have been spending time together bonding.”

That’s interesting. Because just a month ago, that same tab claimed Pattinson and Stewart were engaged!

Even Life & Style isn’t convinced that a split is inevitable because of the supposed Keira Knightley “hurdle,” so the mag keeps wandering, looking for evidence of trouble for Pattinson and Stewart.

“They’re very young and going their separate ways in terms of careers,” argues the magazine’s source. “While Kristen may be on the cover of Vogue, she’s still very much an indie star or supporting-role actress. Meanwhile, Rob is moving at lightning speed.”

Seriously?

Stewart, who’s been offered the role of Snow White and finds herself rumored for other enormous starring roles is too much of a “supporting actress” for Pattinson?

But Life & Style isn’t done.

The tabloid returns to the old narrative about Stewart being a party pooper sourpuss, who “refuse(s) to smile on the red carpet and complains about being unable to go to the mall anymore,” leading Pattinson to question whether the couple is really “compatible.”

Yes, it’s Pattinson’s painful separation from malls that is making him reconsider Stewart.

Sigh.

Monitoring Life & Style’s attempts to break up Stewart and Pattinson is like watching someone dance the “hokey pokey.”

They put gossip in, they pull logic out, they do a few spins – but the story flops all about.

Rumor: Rob and Kristen would bike ride during ‘Breaking Dawn’ in Baton Rouge

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart can’t bear to be away from one another … for even a minute! The Twilight twosome are in Baton Rouge, La., filming Breaking Dawn, but they are making sure to squeeze in some much needed QT. A very reliable source tells HollywoodLife.com that Rob and Kristen ride their bikes around Raleigh Studios’ empty parking lots in between takes!

“I see Rob and Kristen riding around the parking lot almost daily,” our source reveals. “Recently I spotted Rob riding out of the main studio gates on his bike and the next thing I knew, he was in front of my car at a stop sign, and Kristen was behind me. He was wearing a long black shirt unbuttoned with another shirt underneath, it was flapping in the wind as he was riding.”

We told you that Rob dropped $1,000 on a 2010 Felt Breed Cyclo-X bike in October, and he’s been spotted riding all over town!

Rumour: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Film BreakingDawn Scenes in Public?

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are reportedly due to film scenes for the next Twilight instalment in Louisiana today.

Despite trying to keep film locations under wraps, the stars will be shooting at Arsenal Park in Baton Rouge, reports Hollywoodlife.com.

The website shows pictures of a huge green screen which has been put up right next to the street. It’s thought that the ‘Breaking Dawn’ cast will be filming until 1pm (EST), as police have allegedly said that the road circling the park will be closed until that time.

The filming comes as Peter Facinelli told MTV that the final scenes of ‘Breaking Dawn’ have already been completed. Facinelli, who plays Robert Pattinson’s dad in the vampire franchise, said it had been emotional: "The other day when we shot that ending sequence, we knew that was the ending of the last two movies and it got a little melancholy. It was sad.”

‘Breaking Dawn’ is expected to be on release from November 18, 2011.
