The Australians in Film Breakthrough Awards gave Aussie expats a chance to catch up and celebrate the work of Australian actors and filmmakers in the US. Held at the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills and hosted by Rove McManus, this year’s event honoured actors Joel Edgerton and Teresa Palmer, and writer David Michôd, who have all made their mark in Hollywood with films such as Warrior, I Am Number Four and Hesher respectively. Other actors with growing profiles such as Xavier Samuel and Sharni Vinson attended, while former Neighbours starlets Margot Robbie and Pippa Black also turned up to show their support.
