Xavier Samuel Named Hollywood's New Heartthrobs In VMAN's September Issue

Photobucket
Now that guys like Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Brad Pitt, and Orlando Bloom have settled down, it's time for a new crop of young actors to take Hollywood--and the ladies--by storm. These guys make teenage girls swoon, inspire directors to take note and most importantly, have the acting chops to back up their heartthrob statuses.
In the September issue of VMAN, The Archetype Issue, the magazine crowns a group of young, talented newcomers as Hollywood's next big heartthrobs.
Logan Lerman, who plays D’Artagnan in this fall's"The Three Musketeers" and the starring role in next year's anticipated "The Perks of Being a Wallflower,"is one of the young actors who made the list.
It looks like Percy Jackson is all grown up.
Even though the 19-year-old heartthrob seems to be landing some of the hottest roles in Hollywood at the moment, he admits that he never set out to become an actor--it just found him.
"I just kind of did it," Lerman told VMAN in regards to acting. "It was a blind leap of faith. I just went for it. A big 'f--k it' moment so to speak."
But that blind leap of faith turned into a burning passion for anything related to the cinema.
"I love watching movies; I'm a total cinephile," said Lerman. "I love learning about anything that goes into filmmaking, whether it be cinematography, editing, anything. Outside of that, I'm very passionate about music--anything from movie compositions or classical pieces to rock and pop. I love to play music. I love to listen to music. I just love music."
Joining young Lerman on the list is Xavier Samuel, a 27-year-old Aussie who shot to the top of the Hollywood hot list when he had a primary role in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." He also stars in Roland Emmerich's Shakespeare thriller "Anonymous," which is set for release this fall.
A self-described nomad, when asked how he defines success, Samuel takes the Bob Dylan approach.
"I think success has something to do with living life your own way," the Aussie actor told VMAN. Bob Dylan said: 'A man is a success if he wakes up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.' That sounds about right."
But there are a few extra things--aside from complete freedom--that make being deemed a young successful heartthrob worthwhile for Samuel.
"Money, cash, hos."
Joking or not, he has a point.
To read the entire interview and to see who else makes the list of young Hollywood heartthrobs, check out the September issue of VMAN, The Archetype Issue, on stands Sept. 1.

Xavier Samuel mentions Rob in a new interview

imagebam.com imagebam.com

It must have been the biggest set you've worked on...
Well, I can't imagine a film that's generated that sort of response. It's funny thinking that regardless of what work I do in the future, I know that I'll never be a part of something that generates that particular type of response - it was really unique. It's a credit to Stephenie Meyer, Robert [Pattinson] and Kristen [Stewart], and the rest of the cast, to capture something that is contagious and exciting and build that world in a way that's compelling. I was really happy to have been a part of it... and just held on tight.

Did you spend much time with Rob and Kristen?
Yeah, it wasn't like a closed shop. Even though that was a fear - well, not a fear, but you're kind of hesitant on any job that you'll into a situation where people have already established their dynamic and their own family. And to be an outsider walking into that - and also playing the bad guy! - you think 'How's this going to go down?' But I couldn't have been welcomed in warmer fashion. We went out to dinners and there was a really organic camaraderie that developed.

Alex Meraz And Xavier Samuel In Cocktail Party

Joseph Abboud and Esquire Magazine hosted a cocktail party to celebrate the launch of the Joseph Abboud Watch Collection Thursday night at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

Annalynne McCord showed up sporting some dark hair, showing off her tiny frame in a blazer and leggings and enjoyed mingling with fellow celeb guests like her 90210 costar no more, Trevor Donovan.

True Blood hunk Joe Manganiello hung with his costar Nelsan Ellis out by the pool, although his fiance was not in attendance.

And it looks like there is no bad vampire blood with Twilight!

Xavier Samuel and Alex Meraz were nearby and chatted together, although it was newly single Ryan Phillippe that had most of the ladies in attendance gawking all night.

David Arquette also was in great spirits, enjoying the music by DJ Paul Sevigny and a performance by HUGO

Xavier Samuel Rides the 'Eclipse' Wave to Surfing Drama 'Drift' (NextMovie)

PhotobucketNo one will deny: the power of "Twilight" is strong. The franchise possesses the uncanny ability to turn relatively unknown young actors into the next big thing. First it was Robert Pattinson, then it was Taylor Lautner, but now a new face is on the rise: Xavier Samuels.

Samuels was last seen on the hunt in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," as the bloodthirsty vampire Riley, and now he's spinning that time in the limelight into bigger and flashier roles.
The budding Australian star has just signed on for "Drift," reports Variety, co-starring in the surfing drama with another It-Guy from down under, Sam Worthington. The two will play a pair of brothers in the '70s who open a surf-wear shop and turn it into the biggest thing since sliced bread. The movie will be heavy on the surfing while stringing the picture along with the dynamic between the two leads.

While he spent most of his time in "Eclipse" looking hungry and fighting off the Cullen clan, "Drift" should give Samuels a juicier role to sink his teeth into. The indie is set to shoot this summer with an intended delivery date of sometime in 2012, but when we'll see the movie in the United States is up in the air.

Before he catches a few gnarly waves in "Drift," Samuels will appear in director Roland Emmerich's Victorian-era mystery "Anonymous." Even when it come to surfing, it won't hurt Samuels to have brushed up on his Shakespeare.

Robert Pattinson's Best Fight Joke: 'Eclipse' Co-Stars Didn't Get It

It was something of a surprise for everyone in the "Twilight" cast when the epic fight scene at the end of "Eclipse" beat out "Inception," "The Fighter," "Kick-Ass" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" for the Best Fight Golden Popcorn. But what had co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel scratching their heads even more was the joke Robert Pattinson made at the end of his acceptance speech.

The joke came after Bryce apologized to Rob for trying to kill him in the movie. "It's fine," he responded. "I ripped your head off, and now you're pregnant." Cut to Kristen Stewart mouthing, "What?" and ducking her head in embarrassment.

"That was a really advanced joke," Bryce said. "I didn't get it."

"I'm not sure what..." Xavier started before trailing off in confusion. "I guess in 'Breaking Dawn' Bella's pregnant, so I guess that's the joke?"

But the duo definitely did know why they won the award even if they didn't necessarily think they had the best movie fight. Bryce explained it best by saying, "Two words: Robert Pattinson. That's why."

Though Xavier took the reigns at the beginning of the acceptance speech to thank all the people who needed to be thanked (like director David Slade and producer Wyck Godfrey), Bryce said she felt a lot less nervous about receiving the award onstage once RPattz stepped up to the mic.

"It was a little overwhelming," she said. "Obviously with Rob at the mic we were good to go. And this cutie pie too," she added, pointing to Xavier.
