Julia Jones Talks About Working With Rob and Taylor

What was it like to work with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner?
At this point it’s bizarrely normal. When we go to work everyone is focused on their roles and the scene so you’re not thinking about them as heart-throbs – they feel more like colleagues. I am reminded of the fact that they’re huge movie stars pretty much all of the time besides when we’re at work.

Do you think it’s funny to see Rob and Taylor portrayed as heartthrobs? What’s it like to walk the red carpet alongside those two?
I don’t think it’s funny – I totally get it! At events you can always tell when one of them has arrived because the fans’ screaming hits a pitch I didn’t know was humanly possible before Twilight.

Twilight Star Tinsel Korey Gives CMR an Exclusive Interview

These days Tinsel Korey doesn’t have much time to be bored. With two movies set to be released this year and another one to begin filming soon, she can also add a newly released song title to her list of things she’s accomplished.

Recently I had the opportunity to interview this dynamic and versatile artist and ask her about some of the current and past projects she’s been working on. At the top of the list was whether she’d be working on “Breaking Dawn 2”. Sadly, the answer was NO!
Stained, a thriller set to be released August 30, has Korey playing Isabelle, an obsessed bookseller who has some secrets in her closet. Of the movie, Tinsel said, “It was very intense. It was a challenge and it pushed me to go into a place some actors don’t want to go.” She took the challenge head on and like all her other film projects, gave it her all and enjoyed the journey. While it was an emotional roller coaster, she described the movie as “captivating, emotional, and moving”.
She told me that each character she’s played is near and dear to her heart, but she did share thatLookout will always hold a special place in her heart because it was her first major U.S. production. Getting to work with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the other amazing actors was a highlight of that experience. “Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a fantastic actor,” she shared. In fact, when asked what three actors she’d love the opportunity to work with, without hesitation she blurted out, “Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ben Kingsley.”
She played the lead alongside Jason London in another independent film, Avarice. She said this sci-fi thriller is also a dramatic movie where lost souls come together. The story centers around a box that falls from the sky and those strange things happen to those that have it in their possession. Avarice means greed and the movie is all about just that. She was pretty excited about the fact that there was some action in this movie and that she got to do her own stunts! As of now there is no US release date for this movie, but the producers are looking for a larger studio to release it. She said that Matthew Shilling did the visual effects and that he is “a genius” and took it to “a whole new level”.
We had a laugh about the film she’ll begin shooting for in September. Its title is Naked Fishing. I asked her if the racy title is an indication of a racy film or a comedy. She said, “Definitely a comedy.” The movie was described as American Pie with a supernatural twist. The film centers around Native Americans and in fact, Native American women used to fish naked, but this movie is about connecting back with nature. Tinsel is very mindful of the fact that she has a young fan base and wants to maintain a good moral standing.
November 2011 will be when the next Twilight movie is released. This time around it’s titled, TheTwilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. The ride of playing Emily Young has been a fun one for Tinsel and she has become very close friends with many of the other actors and crew. That closeness, however, is a bit bittersweet because she’s not contracted to be in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 2, due to be released in November 2012.

Julia Jones Talks Being a Female Werewolf and Her Breaking Dawn Memories

The Twilight cast hit Comic-Con to talk about Breaking Dawn part one, and I had a few minutes to chat with Julia Jones, who plays Leah Clearwater, the lone werewolf girl in the wolf pack. Jones chatted about her role in the film and her emotional scenes with Taylor Lautner, as well as getting to check out the big Breaking Dawn wedding.

BuzzSugar: What are we seeing from Leah in Breaking Dawn?
Julia Jones: All my scenes are with Jacob [and] that was such a treat because they're very intimate scenes, and pretty much until this point all our scenes were like, wolf pack scenes: all of us, running around and saying a few lines and doing a lot of "business." So to actually get to have these scenes that go somewhere, where you care so much about your character because you've been living her for so long, and to really get into what happens with both of them, is rewarding. I'm excited to see how that plays out.

Buzz: What is Leah and Jacob's relationship like in this film?
JJ: I have spent a bunch of time since this started trying to wrap my head around their relationship, because i don't think I have a relationship that's quite like it. I guess the closest thing is like family — the way that they drive each other mad and the way that they're so close mentally, but also emotionally. I think because of his situation with Bella and Leah's situation with Sam, it creates a bond that maybe isn't possible in the human world, because you can't read each others' thoughts.

Buzz: Since you haven't seen the film yet, which scene are you most excited to watch?
JJ: I'm really excited to see how they deal with the birth and that whole thing. I saw the set and I saw some of the technical ways they were doing it and it blew my mind. So I've been trying to figure out how it's going to translate?

Buzz: Did you see any fake blood?
JJ: I saw some fake things, yeah. They've got some tricks up their sleeves. That's what I'm saying, I have a sense of how intricate and how complicated and in-depth and how far they went and I'm dying to see it.

Buzz: When you were reading, did you ever think that Leah and Jacob should get together?
JJ: He becomes the leader of the pack, [so] they're not equals the way I think about couples as being equals. He's an alpha, and there's a power disparity that doesn't feel romantic to me, so I never thought that maybe they should be together at all. I just felt some feelings that overlap with a romantic relationship; like, she needs things from him that you would need from someone you were in a relationship with: understanding, and for him to accept her, and for things that you don't normally need from anybody else.

Buzz: How has it been watching Taylor grow up over the course of filming?
JJ: It's lovely. He is really smart and wise beyond his years in a lot of ways. There are times where I feel like I'm talking to my bigger brother. He's had a lot of experiences I haven't had. But yeah, I totally watched him grow up over the last few years. And there's a parallel between our growth as people and our growth as characters. Sometimes I can't separate those two things; I don't know if I'm watching Jacob grow up, or if it's Taylor. I think it's probably both.

Buzz: What was it like at this point being the only girl in the wolf pack?
JJ: It changed. It's very different this time, because the dynamic of the wolf pack changed — Jacob and Leah and Seth sort of break off. It felt a lot more comfortable. Part of why she leaves the pack in the first place is because she feels like she doesn't belong there. She just feels so out of place and constantly trying to prove herself and be one of them, which she's never gonna be; she's not a guy. So when they leave, the dynamic shifts, and it's like I'm with my best friend and my brother. We just feel like this close, tight-knit family.

Buzz: What's your relationship like with the wolf pack cast members off-screen?
JJ: I am very close to them, so I feel protective of them, and they feel protective of me. We keep in touch a lot and I'm sure that we'll continue to do so.

Buzz: You're not in the wedding scene, but did you get to see any of it shot?
JJ: That was tricky for me, because the wedding was shot toward the very end of filming, and literally every character except for me was in the wedding. I got to the point where I just started going to the set to hang out. But it was great; I saw everybody dressed up! I'm so glad that I did that, because it was just such a wonderful way to finish filming.

Fan Encouter with Julia Jones "Breaking Dawn" - March in Squamish

Photobucket

I met Julia Jones in Vancouver when I was in a cafe. She was talking to Casey Labow-who by the way did not turn around when I passed by them. Only Julia did. She said we had to hurry because her cab was here, so we quickly took the pic. That night the entire cast went out-because the new vamps came into town. We saw all of them leave into their cabs.

Winter In The Blood Director: Fortunate to Have Chaske Spencer and Julia Jones

Photobucket

Winter in the Blood starts filming this summer and is a labor of love for fim makers who are trying to stay authentic to the Montana experience.

“The story is set specifically in a place that could only be that region of Montana. So many of the people involved — including major investors and partners — are Montanans or at least have a deep love for Montana,” he said. “We’re casting a number of actors who are either from here or have a strong connection to this place.”

When the Smiths focused on Chaske Spencer — alpha werewolf Sam Uley in the “Twilight” Saga and a Lakota Sioux in real life — for lead character Virgil First Raise, they knew him as a New York actor and only later learned he’s from Poplar.

…Another cast member with “Twilight” ties is Julia Jones, who will play Agnes. She was Leah Clearwater in the “Twilight” Saga and is of Choctaw and Chickasaw descent.

“There’s a quality in Chaske and Julia that’s very powerful,” Smith said. “We’re excited we get them at this point in their career where they’re still willing to be in a low-budget film. It will be interesting to see them in a completely different realm. They’re going to have fun playing off each other.”
