NextMovie: 20 Most Unforgettable Moments Breaking Dawn & SWATH included

Couldn't make it to San Diego this year? No worries! We're here to help you avoid the crowds.
The experience at Comic-Con is different for everyone -- even every reporter -- so instead of just running through the straightforward movie-related highlights, we thought we'd give you a little more color and share some of our favorite moments.

Andrew Garfield starting an answering service? Check! Kristen Stewart talking about Taylor Lautner's booty shakin'? Double check! Seeing unexpected parts of Colin Farrell and Jason Momoa? Oh, yeah, it happened.

The Honeymoon in 'Breaking Dawn' Looks Hawt

Seeing Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner trading quips was indeed a treat, but it was the lengthy clip from Bella and Edward's honeymoon in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" that really had the fans squealing. From Edward carrying his bride over the threshold and awkward looks exchanged bedside to the newlyweds individually stripping down, hearts throughout San Diego were racing. Read our full description here.

Taylor Lautner Can Really Shake His Booty

During the "Breaking Dawn" press conference, one reporter asks the Vampire, the Wolf and the girl who loves them to expose a backstage secret. Robert Pattinson comes out of the experience unscathed, but admits that Stewart is a Cooking Channel addict, while Stewart saucily announces that Lautner has secret sweet dance moves: "He can move his hips better than I could ever dream."

'Snow White and the Huntsman' Looks AWESOME

The stars and director of Universal's "Snow White" retelling debuted a rough trailer and the first official images from the movie -- and it looks more badass than we could ever have hoped. Charlize Theron makes a beautiful wicked queen, Sam Claflin has dimples we could drown in and Kristen Stewart looks battle-ready as Snow White herself. Also, the bantering between K.Stew and Theron had us pumped for months of fun media appearances together.

Eonline: KStew Warns Her Snow White Castmates: "I Take Myself Very Seriously"

Photobucket

Comic-Con 2011 Tile
It looks as if Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart are going to make great mortal enemies.
After discussing what drew her to the titular heroine in Snow White and the Huntsman, Stewart then joked to her castmates, "I'm not good at stunts, actually. I don't know why I'm doing this...But you better not mess with me because I take myself very seriously."

"You're going to be fine," Theron, the Evil Queen herself, assured her. "I'm an Oscar winner, so we take work really seriously here. You'll be fine."

So are these two ready to go head-to-head?

You don't have to show me up," Stewart told her. Theron's reply? "I will call you Snow White all the time."

"I'll be calling Sam Snow White," offered hunky huntsman Chris Hemsworth, referring to the film's resident prince charming, Sam Claflin. Sounds like we know who will be providing the comic relief on those long shooting days.

But joking aside, did we get any clues as to what the final product is supposed to look like?
"Our movie, I like to think, is on the scale of Lord of the Rings, in terms of size and scope and appetite—a tough, rough, active male-female picture," producer Joe Roth said. "I can't speak for the other movie, but from the images, it's a softer version," he said, referring to the other Snow White picture in the works starring Lily Collins and Julia Roberts.

"Everyone's read the story...It's part of who we are," said director Rupert Sanders, who's making his feature-film debut. It has "a very complex way of dealing with mortality. To play with those images, the mirror, the apple, shape-shifting...It was such a great opportunity for me to really do what I do best, creating large landscapes full of emotions."

Back to what attracted Stewart to her character: "She's got this amazing ability to channel fear, things that people are typically very afraid of, into this really focused, really charged, driving energy. She's also like the people's leader and...truly doesn't let her heart cloud her mind. [She] doesn't let her mind get in the way of doing things she feels strongly about. Also, I get to have a sword and stuff."

Looking ahead to working with Stewart, Theron said that, so far, the two hadn't spent much time together but she could tell that Twilight star was going to "give me a run for my money. And I'm ready for it, bitch, let's go," she joked.

Stewart was asked whether she saw any of herself in Snow White, and she had a pretty awesome answer:

"It's hard for me to play a person you don't see parts of yourself in," she began. "I'd like to be like her. Well, I'm the fairest in the land. And I have a seriously good heart, really, for people who don't know me."
"And you like apples, big red apples," Hemsworth popped in. "You had, like, seven on the plane."

As for the Evil Queen, Theron's got big plans for that role.
"It's important to me to really understand...where she came from and what drives her to get to where she is. It won't be the Evil Queen who [just]shows up evil. There's going to be a lot of circumstances that bleed into her action. I don't want to just be evil.

"And trust me, she's dark," Theron said. "She's a serial killer. I'm pretty much preparing to play a serial killer. I'm trying to ground it and make it something real. Watch out, Kristen."
Sounds like we have quite the matchup on our hands. Too bad we have to wait almost a year to see it play out on the big screen.

JoBlo' Talks About The Pics From 'Snow White & The Huntsman'

Photobucket

I wasn't exactly jazzed up to sit through the panel for SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN considering they haven't even started filming yet and I assumed the audience would be filmed with screaming K-Stew fans. While both of those things are and were true, I walked out impressed with what I saw.

They showed us a first look at the four main actors - Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Sam Chaflin - as Snow White, the Evil Queen, the Huntsman and the Prince. It's pretty clear this isn't the old Disney fairy tale...The look of Snow White, which presumably comes more towards the end of the film, goes back to what director Rupert Sanders said early in the panel. He said this is more like a LORD OF THE RINGS style movie than any other SNOW WHITE film (specifically the competing SNOW WHITE project at Relativity).

And to their credit, despite filming still being a week away, they had a 90-second proof-of-concept teaser trailer that Sanders shot on a Disney backlot in three days to convince Universal on the look of the film. It didn't feature any of the actors and some of the footage was cribbed from other films, but it gave you an idea of what they were aiming for. There were creepy tree monsters, an equally creepy white lady climbing out of the belly of a crow (the Evil Queen?), the Queen (who looked more like the classic Disney version) dipping herself in a milky, white liquid and mostly a very dark and, true to their word, LOTR-style adventure.

Comic Con 2011: Kristen Stewart From Hall H For Snow White And The Huntsman

HQ
PhotobucketPhotobucket

Kristen Stewart was livelier and more engaging than ever during Thursday's panel for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, so now she's giving another panel a shot, about to take the stage for her next big film, Snow White and the Huntsman. She'll be joined by several co-stars who are also Hall H veterans-- Charlize Theron, who took the stage on Thursday during the Prometheus panel, and Chris Hemsworth, a.k.a. the mighty Thor. Sam Claflin will also be joining the hubbub, along with the film's director Rupert Sanders. I'll be liveblogging the highlights as we get our first look at the film, which you'll remember is just one of two Snow White projects going into production-- it's going to have to cause enough of a stir here to overshadow that first look at Lily Collins in costume for that competing Snow White project. Anyway, follow all the action below as Stewart and company show us what they've got.

3:35 Sanders and the producers are the first ones up. Obviously they're going to build people up to the scream-worth celebrities.

3:37 Moderator Dave Karger actually brings up that OTHER Snow White movie. Producer Joe Roth explains, "our movie I like to think is on the scale of Lord of the Rings in terms of size and scope." Wow, I did not expect that comparison.

3:38 Roth was working at Disney during the Armageddon vs. Deep Impact summer of 1998, so he's a veteran of the same-movie battles.

A Interview With Producer & Screenwriter of 'Snow White & The Huntsman'

Photobucket

When little known screenwriter Evan Daugherty came up with the idea to tell the story of Snow White from the Huntsman’s point of view, he had no idea that a few years later he’d be sitting at Roth Films in Santa Monica on the other end of a deal worth $3.2 million.

The story of how Daugherty got his spec script into the hands of producer Palak Patel, who helped develop the script into a four quadrant tenpole movie and sparked a bidding war with the studios, became one of the most lucrative spec sales in recent history. Script sat down with the screenwriter and producer to hear how they made it happen in a marketplace that seems impossible.

SWATH: Character Details for Stewart, Theron and Hemsworth

Who needs “happily ever after” when you can reinvent the fairy-tale rules?
Producer Joe Roth’s announcement that Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman is “meant to be the first in a series of films” delivers a body blow to Relativity’s already filming untitled Snow White, which is slated to come out first. “This story will end,” he says, “but there will be questions remaining for these three characters.”

As befits a would-be franchise, Universal will mount a presentation at Comic-Con this July before production on Huntsman even begins in August. Roth provides more details on the main characters, played by Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron below:

The Huntsman: “The Huntsman is a mercenary, in the sense that he’s a guy who is very able in the woods, more able than most anyone. His job is to capture runaway girls, who are all fleeing the kingdom because of the queen. He’s a nondescript bounty hunter, as we first meet him…He’s not a nice guy, but not only that, he’s someone who has lost hope and lost faith. He has lost his wife, given up on everything.”

Snow White: “She starts out not a damsel in distress, but innocent, and after 11 years of imprisonment by the Evil Queen, she escapes and learns the ways of a warrior in the woods,…[of Kristen Stewart] I hope this is a movie that will appeal to those who find Twilight appealing, but also [Stewart] is someone who has some piss and vinegar in her.”

Evil Queen: ”She’ll be larger than life. Evil without any burden of guilt.”

Trilogy planned for ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’

Photobucket
Producer Joe Roth tells EW that he plans on making the folktale action-adventure movie into a trilogy. “It’s meant to be the first in a series of films,” he said. “This story will end, but there will be questions remaining for these three characters.”

It’s an ambitious move by the Alice in Wonderland producer, who is in a neck-and-neck competition with a rival Snow White film starring Julia Roberts. Shooting is already underway on that movie, while Roth’s film — which stars Kristen Stewart and Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth as the title characters and Charlize Theron as her wicked royal highness– begins principal photography in August.
The two movies will open roughly two-and-a-half months apart next year. Roth’s movie debuts second, on June 1, but he’s hoping audience’s will be drawn in by a Lord of the Rings-style take on the centuries-old tale.
“We retain the basic story in the same way we retain the basic story of Alice, a young girl meant to be the queen who is cast out,” Roth says. “The Huntsman is a mercenary, in the sense that he’s a guy who is very able in the woods, more able than most anyone. His job is to capture runaway girls, who are all fleeing the kingdom because of the queen. He’s a nondescript bounty hunter, as we first meet him.”

"Snow White and the Huntsman": Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones Cast as Dwarfs

They join Ian McShane in Universal's retelling of the fairy tale, starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth.

There are no small parts in Hollywood. But these days there are plenty of dwarf roles to go around.

Universal is ramping up its casting of the warrior dwarfs in its high-profile Snow White and the Huntsman action adventure movie, with Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins and Toby Jones in negotiations to board the movie.

Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes) and Steven Graham are in negotiations to play dwarves in the film as well.

The project, being directed by Rupert Sanders, is a revisionist take on the fairy tale and features Snow White (Kristen Stewart) as a princess who escapes her evil stepmother (Charlize Theron) with the help of a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) who was to have killed her but now trains the princess to survive and fight back.

Evan Daugherty wrote the initial script and Evan Spiliotopoulos is currently working on it.

As Heat Vision first reported Monday, Ian McShane was cast first as the dwarf leader. The dwarf names are veering mightily away from the well-known Disney version, with McShane as Caesar, Jones as a timid dwarf named Claudius and Izzard will be Tiberius, described as the biggest and burliest of the crew. Hoskins will play Constantine, a blind dwarf.

Izzard, who will be heard as part of the Cars 2 voice cast, is repped by UTA, the Collective and UK-based Conway Van Gelder.
Hoskins, who last appearerd in Made in Dagenham, is repped by CAA and the UK's United Artists.
Jones, repped by UTA and ARG Talent, will next be seen in Captain America: The First Avenger and does voicework in The Adventures of Tintin. He next shoots a part in Hunger Games.
