Kristen talks about ‘Flightless Bird, American Mouth’ and when she danced with Rob on Twilight

Dedicated Twilight fans might recognize the song that plays during the long-awaited wedding between Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) when they see Breaking Dawn this weekend (if they haven’t seen it already; the film made over $30 million in midnight screenings Thursday night). It’s a special ‘wedding version’ of the Iron & Wine song, ‘Flightless Bird, American Mouth’ that played during the prom scene in the first Twilight movie way back when in 2008.

“Before we even started shooting the first Twilight with [director] Catherine Hardwicke, I was rehearsing with Rob and we were sort of dancing around this room, trying to do this scene,” Stewart tells EW. “I put on Iron & Wine’s ‘Flightless Bird, American Mouth’ and I just became instantly emotional. Rob couldn’t handle it — it got weird! But I was like, ‘oooh, this is perfect.’”

Stewart says that they ended up playing the song for her on-set when they filmed the actual scene, and the rest is Twilight history. Listen for parts of the song to play during the long-awaited love scene too: “I think our composer played with it and you hear the melody throughout the film,” says Stewart.

The members of West End Business & Professional Association and Forks Chamber of Commerce have gone in together on two Sanicans placed downtown for the summer tourists. Merchants in the area of the stoplight had been complaining about Twilight visitors using their restrooms which are usually back in store rooms and not meant for public use.

So a regular sanican was delivered first and when the folks at West Waste and Recycling delivered the second one it had a custom paint job, I call it the "Twilight Twoilet."

Now Forks visitors have their pick: regular or Twilight!

InStyle caught up with the gorgeous Jamie Campbell Bower to chat all things Camelot and beyond...
Gorgeous actor Jamie Campbell Bower stopped by for a chat with InStyle about all things Camelot and his future plans.

You play Arthur in Camelot - did you do a lot of research for the role?
I did a bit of research. Above and beyond anything I wanted this character to be real and to be a boy so what it really boiled down to was what experience can I draw from my own life that will make this character real and they wanted to modernise it in a way. People forget that this character may not have actually existed, there’s no factual evidence that he was even born, so while you can draw on literature, most of it is historical and includes possible facts about battles - not so much about the man, so watching someone else’s portrayal of that character doesn’t really help.

And had you ridden a horse before?
I had. I rode on my second job which was a crazy Dutch film and then I rode on this film called Anonymous which I did with Roland Emmerich.

A lot of your roles seem to be quite fantastical - Harry Potter, Twilight, even Sweeney Todd, would you like to do a role that was just simply a guy living now?
If it was a good story I would jump at the chance, it just so happens that most things that I’ve done has been that sort of supernatural role. But that’s because it’s a good story. I’ve just got a new project, which is a fantasy series, so for the near future it's all fantastical.

You’ve been in both Harry Potter and Twilight, was it a different experience on each set?
Every job is different. My time on Harry Potter was very, very short, whereas my time on Twilight was quite long and extended. Every job brings a new life experience. I was able to come back home when I was in Potter, whereas when I was in Twilight I was out in Baton Rouge and Vancouver for five months together. Every job should just bring something new and exciting and should help you grow.

Who would win the battle between team Twilight and team Potter?
Now, I got asked this question the other day, but if it was just the two leads – Edward vs Harry. I said Edward would win in that situation, because once you get the wand out of Harry’s hand, he’s dead. But, you’ve thrown a new dynamic into it because if it was a team battle, honestly then, I don’t know. I probably have to say the vampires again, they do move at super speed but the other guys have wands and you can stand back, you don’t have to get so close. Who knows? It’s a debate that philosophers have been thinking about for years now!

Who would you like to work with in the future?
There’s loads of people I’d love to work with, crikey! I’d love to work with Cate Blanchett. But maybe I wouldn’t like to act with her, maybe I’d like to just stand or be a camera man or a grip because I don’t think I’d be up to her standard. But I’d love to watch her work in a very visual way. Who else? I’d love to work with Tim Burton again, now that I’m older and wiser and ask him more questions.

Kellan Lutz: Why I Didn’t Want The Role Of Edward Cullen!

Can you imagine a Twilight without Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen? Or even more bizarre — one where Kellan Lutz played Bella’s brooding vampire love? Kellan reveals he never wanted to do Twilight in the first place, and even more interesting, he specifically turned down multiple auditions for the part of Edward. “I turned down the audition a couple of times,” Kellan confessed. Why wouldn’t he want to play the starring role?He said it was too “depressing”! (We beg to differ).

“My agent wanted me to read for Edward and I read the script and thought that character was too depressing for me right now, I want to do something where I smile,” Kellan explained to JustJared. “I wanted to take a break from acting [...] I spent so much time filming in Africa, seven months, and that’s a long time to be away from your family and dogs.”

So what made him change his mind and read for big, bulky, charming Emmett? “Ryan, my agent at the time, really knew it was going to be a special project so he told me to read the role of Emmett, and I read it, it was only about four lines, but he was the big brother, the comedic relief and I fell in love with him. I said ‘Sure, I would love to play this type of role’. I auditioned, and long story short, here I am finishing the saga and Emmett is going to be in my heart forever.”

Wow — how different would Twilight have been with Kellan as Edward? Can you even picture it? We’re glad everything worked out in the way it did, Kellan makes for a great Emmett! Sound off below on Emmett’s story — do you think it was rude to call the role depressing?

MovieLine Talks to Bill Condon about Twilight spin-offs

Yesterday in San Diego, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon mysteriously hinted that Stephenie Meyer could have more Twilight spin-offs left in her. Movieline caught up with Condon for a chat overlooking the Convention Center (full interview to come) and asked him to clarify: Is Stephenie Meyer planning to write more Twilight stories?

“No, that’s just speculation,” Condon explained. “But when I’ve asked her, ‘Is it over?’, she’s been very definitive that [Twilight] is the Bella-Edward thing. She’s sure of that; telling the Bella-Edward story is over for her.”

However, Condon’s not ruling out the possibility that more Twilight could be written, especially considering that Meyer continued her four-novel Twilight saga with the 2010 novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, which explored further the previously unseen experiences of a newborn vampire supporting character featured in her third book, Eclipse.

“That leaves you with the question,” Condon mused. “God knows, in Breaking Dawn alone, the numbers of characters she introduced… She could go in a lot of different directions.”

E News: Will a Twilight Baby Beat Harry Potter's Box Office Record?

Brace yourself, for we just might witness an epic scrum for box office supremacy once Bella and Edward start shagging in November.

If a few factors fall neatly into place, Breaking Dawn, parts I and II, just might earn more blood money than the record-breaking Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2:

So far, the second part of Deathly Hallows—in which Bellatrix is finally Lestranged from her mortal coil, and mischief is, once and for all, managed—has enjoyed the biggest bow in Hollywood history, with $168.6 million in a single weekend.

Might the swooning Twi-hards pay just as much to squirm through the birth of Renesmee? It's not a given, box office analyst Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations tells me. But it could happen, with a little technological help.

"The Twilight saga is the filmic yin to Harry Potter's yang in terms of rabid fans," Bock muses, "so it's not impossible that Breaking Dawn: Part 1 or Part 2 will have the type of opening [Potter] had this weekend, but it's looking more and more unlikely as the series really hasn't crossed over to include the male demographic."

That's an excellent point. Guys do go to see Twilight films, but not in the numbers that flock to Potter films.

That said, both franchises have huge built-in fan bases, Bock observes, and "that usually translates into massive debuts" regardless.

Also, let's not forget that New Moon had the fourth-biggest debut ever, for $142 million. Therefore, Bock argues, if Breaking Dawn: Part I can match that number, it's not so hard to imagine that Part 2 could compete with the final installment of Deathly Hallows.

What might put Breaking Dawn: Part 2 over the top? A more mundane kind of movie magic, Bock tells me.

"The odds are especially good if Summit decides to go through with retrofitting [the final installment] in 3-D," Bock says. "If that does indeed happen, we may just see Team Twilight toppling Team Potter.

"I think it is a necessary evil that the last chapter of the Twilight saga be in 3-D, as we're talking about a bump of possibly $15 million to $20 million."

And even the wealthy Cullens can't turn away that kind of money

3. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, ‘Twilight’
Like you didn’t see this pick coming. Pattinson and Stewart have crazy chemistry, but as Edward and Bella, they spend the first three movies unable to go all the way for fear of turning Bella into a blood sucker. Thankfully for them (and us), they give in to their desires in “Breaking Dawn.” Expect all hell to break loose, in a good way.

What seemed like a simple battle between good and evil ended with a huge victory for the cast of Harry Potter this weekend as they took home the record for biggest box office record. Harry Potter fans rejoiced as Harry Potter took down Twilight at the box office this weekend with a record of 168.8 million dollars. Harry Potter has now become one of the most biggest movies of all time. But no surprise there it's only been around for 10 years. So what about Twilight? Will it rise or will it fall? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Court official to take over Corbett's View Point Inn

“A bankruptcy judge’s ruling Thursday means the fire-damaged View Point Inn and Restaurant in Corbett will likely be put up for sale, bringing new ownership to the historic site.

Judge Elizabeth L. Perris ruled Thursday that a bankruptcy court trustee would take over the inn. If the court official finds no way to come up with the money to pay co-owner Geoffrey Thompson’s creditors, the inn will be put up for sale in a foreclosure auction.

The Oregonian’s continuing coverage of a fire at the historic View Point Inn in Corbett.
After a fire Sunday took most of View Point’s roof, the inn is worth only $20,000 to $30,000, Thompson estimated at Thursday’s hearing. He has said the building was uninsured at the time of the fire.

Thompson did not appear in court, but testified over the phone. His debt totals at least $2.9 million, not counting nearly 200 creditors whose claims are listed as “unknown,” according to a motion filed this week.

Thompson asked for the case to be dismissed. The dismissal would have allowed him to continue as the inn’s owner and try to rebuild. Enough people and businesses had offered to help that he would be able to rebuild the inn and pay back his creditors, Thompson claimed at the hearing.

Judge Perris ruled instead to put the inn’s fate in a trustee’s hands.”
